The Beloved Community Supports Animals in Need: Paw It Forward

United States — The Beloved Community (TBC), a nonprofit leading volunteer-run community projects, wraps up a heartwarming animal welfare campaign. Our month-long event encouraged volunteers across the U.S. to help animals in their neighborhood and nominate their local animal welfare organizations to receive donations.

We inspired 19 volunteers across 4 states to assist animal shelters or help wildlife! Whether our national volunteers were organizing pet events, donating pet supplies, walking shelter dogs, or building birdhouses, they made a PAWsitive impact in their community.

TBC ran a month-long social media campaign full of animal facts, funny memes, and highlights of people volunteering! We fundraised money and item donations from individual and corporate sponsors, then matched $1,000 towards the cause. Importantly, we collected nominations from volunteers about which local animal organizations should receive support. Thanks to the generosity of donors, we supported all 8 nominated organizations! TBC volunteers excitedly arranged donations and shipped them out as care packages worth nearly $430 each – stuffed full of pet supplies, money, coupons, and treats.

They shared some heartwarming impacts of our Paw It Forward project. Animal shelters were able to continue their day-to-day services including veterinary care, spay/neuter programs, vaccinations, and microchipping. Wildlife organizations could continue their essential conservation efforts and science communication programs. And, rescue and foster groups could treat sick or abused animals and find loving homes for these beloved pets. TBC would like to thank all the volunteers, donors, and project organizers for highlighting the importance of helping animals in need!
